Mellow As the Month of May
Aye, well: another of those days.
I finished Cal Flyn’s Islands of Abandonment, which I enjoyed a great deal. It’s provocative and well-written and reminded me in spirit, if not detail, of Richard Mabey’s Unofficial Countryside from 1973. I have a huge ‘to be read’ pile so I’m not short of other things to read. I passed some time with an episode of Westworld season two and this week’s episode of American Gods, the latter reclaiming some of the ground lost by it’s previous series. Revision then called.
I also briefly indulged my hobby of napping in the recliner.
I checked the news and apparently NASA landed a robot on Mars. Also, my sister in Houston had power, last time I checked, though water was still a bit iffy.

Music : Carole King’s Tapestry is fifty-years-old this month. I have a half-written review that I need to finish and publish, but, until then, here’s the album opener, I Feel The Earth Move. Lots to like here, including Charles Larkey’s bass playing. Charles was Carole’s second husband and, to the best of my knowledge, left the music business in the late seventies.
