Before the Teacher and the Test
I went out again today. Admittedly it was only along to Tesco to get some bird food for the garden feeders and something for supper, but it wasn’t in the house and that’s a plus. Chocolate may also be implicated, but I couldn’t possibly confirm or deny that.
Otherwise it was much the same as every other day of late. I finally managed to finish a first revision of the first five chapters (now first 4 chapters) of the old novel. Also, Scotland beat England at Twickenham. The last time that happened, my dad was alive, I hadn’t started my first job and the Big Canadian, who sometimes reads this, hadn’t got married yet. Michael Jackson was number one with Billy Jean and Bonnie Tyler number two with Total Eclipse of the Heart.

On 26 January I noted that there had been 100,000 UK coronavirus deaths by the main metric. That figure is now 112,000. The total on 24th November was just under 56,000, so half of the total UK deaths to date have happened in less than two and a half months. Still, the Prime Minister says we’re doing the best we can, so that’s OK. In the meantime, have a read at the following from the front line:

Music : at number forty-nine in the charts last time Scotland beat England at Twickenham, Big Country and Fields of Fire (400 Miles). This is them on The Tube (of blessed memory) a couple of weeks later. Fabby Yamaha electrics for the guitar geeks too. It must have been live because the bum notes weren’t edited out 🙂
