A bit of a problem this one. Marriage On The Rocks/Rock Bottom was the fourth album by the Amboy Dukes. I’m not a fan, but I wanted to give it a fair shot in the limelight. Unfortunately it’s not currentl;y available on Spotify (at least in the UK) and nor is it available as a playlist on YouTube.
It is available as some individual tracks on YouTube where the posters are enthusiastic, calling it some of guitarist ted Nuget’s best work, a ‘classic’ and ‘an overlooked gem.’ Without listening to the full album, it’s hard to say. What I heard didn’t do a great deal for me; rather the opposite. Bits of it reminded me of the Mothers of Invention, but the Mothers did it better.
