Riding the Waves to Eternity: Hangin’ with the Cosmic Surfer

Friday Already

The end of a weird week, during which I’ve got a few things done, but have a load of odds and ends I’ve struggled to focus on. The main reason for the lack of focus has been that a good chunk of my brain remains occupied with diabetes related matters, and that has inhibited anything creative. Also, in an unexpected twist, my body is adapting to the sudden switch to a low-carb diet and I’ve felt a bit out of it, with frequent bouts of fatigue and an increased number of trips to the bathroom.

I’ve tried to compensate by leaving writing aside to concentrate on reading (currently Eric Ambler’s The Mask of Dimitrios, which I’m enjoying) and catching up with films and TV. The films were:

The Ninth Gate. Johnny Depp attempts to validate a demonic manuscript, Great fun with a twist of weirdness.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Marvel hokum, but well done for the most part, and one of the better Marvel offerings.
No Time To Die. Daniel Craig’s farewell to James Bond, and very good it is too. My only hesitation is that the primary villain is a bit of a void in terms of character and motivation.

Meantime, I have two edited manuscripts to work on, and a bunch of things started and left in limbo, plus some content to put together for a new website.
