And a quick update to wish Amy a very happy 17th birthday.
As I type it has just occured to me that I was reading Melville’s “Moby Dick” when Kirstin was expecting Amy and when she went into labour I put the novel aside and never did pick it up again. So it is Amy’s fault that I’ve never read the book.
Tomorrow Amy and I go through to Glasgow where she will be taking a look around Glasgow University, which is a bit of a scunner really as it presages both of my wee girls being grown-up.
Mind you, maybe that means that I’ll finally get some peace to read Moby Dick.
Happy Birthday Amy!

Unusually for me, I had some music with me while running on Sunday. I used a 36 minute selection I put together a couple of years ago for a 5k run and put it on repeat. The tracks were selected either for their rhythm or to sing along to or both. They were:
Madison Blues – George Thorogood
Amerykahn Promise – Erykah Badu
Don’t Fear the Reaper – Blue Oyster Cult
Sharp Dressed Man – ZZ Top
Immigrant Song – Led Zeppelin
Pyjamarama – Roxy Music
Radio Nowhere – Bruce Springsteen
Rockaway Beach – The Ramones
Sheila-na-gig – PJ Harvey
Peace Train – Cat Stevens.
I crossed the finish line to Led Zeppelin.
