When the People Start to Move
I saw my mum today, for the first time since Christmas 2019. We also met my grand-nephew Oliver who was born during lockdown, who we’d only seen in photos, along with my niece and her husband and my youngest sister. It was a very good day.
It was also the first time I’d been out of Edinburgh in over a year, meeting people who don’t live in our house or adjacent houses. The sun was shining and a couple of beers were involved. Even the M8, which is one of the duller roads in Scotland, seemed attractive, despite the heavy traffic in parts.
I’d thought of writing more, but that is actually all I need.

Music: Stevie Wonder’s Sir Duke is a song I always mentally tag as joyful. Today is a good day for it.
