Not Another Manic Monday
Another quiet day, so quiet that I just had to check it was Monday before writing this.
The major excitement of the day was the arrival of five tomato plants from our neighbour Sally across the road. All I had to do was pot them on and clear space in the shed for them. Once the weather improves, I’ll probably be able to put a couple of them at least outside. Next year, fingers crossed, there’ll be a greenhouse.
For those interested in these things, the plants are 2 x Rosella, 2 x Golden Sunrise, and 1 x
Noire de Crimée

I’ve spent most of the day, when not potting out tomatoes, finishing a final read through of the latest draft of my novel. I said a couple of weeks ago that I was going to have one last attempt with literary agents; in the interim I’ve taken the opportunity to rename it, switch a couple of chapters around, and have another read through.
It’s been tough in a strange way: I finished the first draft nearly two years ago and part of me thinks of it as a done thing, a finished thing, something that’s behind me. I’ll get the submission letters done this week. If there is continued lack of interest, I’ll probably take one final print for posterity, to put in a folder, and put it to bed while I get back to the work in progress.
It won’t be the first time: I have a novel-length collection of linked short stories that are now archived.
