Nuts and Bolts and other Corrosions
Another Monday rolls around, and it was a decent one once I got going (I dropped off in a recliner after breakfast).
My main task of the morning was to dismantle a picnic table in the garden that was already deteriorating. How hard could it be? Well, when the screws are all corroded and the bolts have bonded to the nuts, a lot harder than I expected. It’s gone now and the bits are sitting in the garage waiting to go to the tip. Our local tip is currently working on a pre-reserved timeslot basis, and our slot is a week on Saturday…
The space where the table was is now freed up. My plan is to have the slabs cleaned and levelled and then put a 6′ x 8′ (or thereabouts) greenhouse there. I can confirm that the distorted shed in the picture is an artefact of the camera lens 🙂
Otherwise, I don’t have a lot to say today, and that’s OK. I’d comment on the news, but I’ve been offline most of the day, by choice, and don’t really know what’s going on. I did make another batch of the vegan coconut scones this afternoon, though, because the first batch disappeared with gratifying speed. I also had an unexpected, but charming, encounter with Dorothy Wordsworth making her way from Edinburgh through the Borders with her brother.

Music. Last time I put some Yes here it was the opening track of Tales From Topographic Oceans; time for some more. This is Bill, Chris, Jon, Pete and Tony in 1969, before Accrington Jon’s lyrics went cosmic. The video is unofficial.
