Riding the Waves to Eternity: Hangin’ with the Cosmic Surfer

Oh Dear, How Sad, Never Mind.

Nearly three years ago I posted here about Theresa May becoming Prime Minister (I’m No Fan of Theresa May, but…) The gist of my argument was that she was the least worst of the available field.

She was awful, though still, I think, the least worst of the awful people she beat and the awful people who are hoping to succeed her (many of them the same awful people she beat last time). She ain’t worth the salt of our tears, and yet I worry about who and what comes next.

In that entry three years ago I said a couple of other things. One was that the Conservatives would have a substantial working majority for a long time. This may well have been correct had not Mrs. May proceeded to call a near-suicidal election. I also said Labour were toast. Notwithstanding that election result, I think that assessment is still correct. Mrs. May’s one piece of good fortune has been that the leader of the Opposition turns out to be as incompetent as she was.
