Humble Pie are not a band I ever got into and I was reticent about giving this album, their third, a listen, not sure if I could give it a fair hearing. As it tuns out, I’m glad I did give it a go as it had the happy effect of confirming my original opinion.
It didn’t start out that way: I quite liked the opening track, Live With Me, a heavy, soul-infused blues, for about four of its seven minutes, until it outstayed its welcome. My notes for the other tracks run the full gamut from ‘generic’ to ‘tedious’.
It has a cracking cover by Aubrey Beardsley, Greg Ridley’s bass is interesting throughout, but otherwise No.
Spotify if you must, possibly YouTube too but I wasn’t motivated to look.
