A bit of a scattershot post tonight: apologies.
I took a break from editing/revising today, and caught up with January 1971 music. This was expensive as I ended up buying a whacky, but excellent, cd that I finally found cheap in Germany. This one. As with the 1970 music, the joy isn’t so much revisiting old favourites, though that is fun, but finding oddities and obscurities or other stuff I’ve never heard of before.

Disaster this evening as, for the first time in a very long time, my pizza dough failed. So a carry-out tonight and I’ll make a fresh dough tomorrow, by which time my tomato sauce for the topping will have infused nicely.

Another day without news, but, glancing at the BBC News app when writing this (19.00), I see the UK recorded a further 1200 Covid deaths to bring the total to 105,571. I’m surprised there isn’t more outrage about this.

Music: I said last night that I’d post some of the renaissance polyphony I was listening to when revising. If you’re being pedantic, it is towards the end of renaissance and on the cusp of early-modern, but let’s not go there. It was probably (maybe?) composed by Leonora d’Este, daughter of Lucrezia Borgia, and composed specifically for women’s voices. The whole album is wonderful.
