Sparrowhawk
I’m away for a couple of days but I thought I’d put a note here about a wee bitty excitement over breakfast.
As long as we’ve been here there have been occasional sparrowhawks flying through the garden but they usually stay well at the back or don’t hang around long enough for me to grab a camera. This morning I caught a movement out of the corner of my eye and thought it was a pigeon until I realised that this young male sparrowhawk had flitted between the houses and was sitting on the roof of our neighbours shed. Her shed is just over the hedge outside our kitchen window.

It sat there for about a minute and generally looked the other way but I kept a lens trained on it and caught some snaps, a couple of which I really like. The two I’ve posted here are the same basic image but developed differently in Light Room. I’ve posted them both because I can’t decide which I like most.
