You don’t know what you want to be when you grow up? Do what I’m doing. I’m simply NOT growing up. Negates the problem entirely.

Also – look at your hands. Whose are they? More and more I see my Dad’s hands when I look down.

Great writing, as usual, a genuine pleasure to read mate. The scenes remind me of my diving trips up through the Great Glen on the way to Lochaline, Tobermory and the Sound of Mull – genuinely ‘God’s Country’. You take pot-luck with the weather, but t’was ever thus.

Hello Ian; A great account. I think that writing by hand seems to enhance your clarity.

WRT weather. while you were dodging a Scottish summer, we have been suffering through the hottest July since 1955. We’ve had stretches of days when the humidex has been in excess of 40c.

With your permission, I’d like to download some of the above photos. I particularly like the one of Lindsay. What a great smile.

Hope the return to the daily grind goes smoothly.

That’s a great report, Ian. I love the pictures of “Not Kansas” and the “Licking Machine”. Oh, and put me down for a signed first edition of the “Episodic Novel” would you please; “the peat sits uneasily as a thin epidermis on the ancient underlying rock” yep, you have a way with words!

Hi Ian;

It’s nice to see such a healthy looking specimen. Most of my encounters with urban foxes have been with rather mangy looking creatures. Of course, around here the growing edge of urban wildlife is the ever-adaptable coyote.

Great to see you singing one of your Georges in English adaptations again four months after Welling !
Makes me look forward to the next edition of the Jake&Georgesfest there ( with those delicious crunchy pies on the menu ! ) …
